Rebecca Gordon Group Launches Missouri Health Care For All Website

The Rebecca Gordon Group is proud to announce the launch of their latest project, the redesign of the Missouri Health Care for All website. MHCFA is a non-partisan, grassroots movement committed to securing access to affordable, high-quality health care for all Missourians.

The new site provides a home for MHCFA to inform, educate and organize citizens and advocates as Missouri prepares for the new Health Insurance Marketplace and decides whether to expand Medicaid. The site allows users to browse a news archive for the latest stories and articles about health care issues in Missouri.

The Rebecca Gordon Group developed the site using a Content Management System called WordPress. You might be familiar with WordPress as a blogging site. However, its powerful software can be used to design non-blog sites as well.  The best part of WordPress is that the vast majority of content can be easily updated by someone with zero knowledge of HTML coding. Go for launch — Part 2

Last week, we told you about launching a new website for East Missouri Action Agency. Well this week, we get to announce the launch of another new website — Missouri Retired Teachers Association. This website is an example of a self-hosted WordPress site (part of our Premium web design package), using the Twenty Eleven theme.

For this site, we worked closely with MRTA staff to develop a new look. We went through several drafts of the header on the site until we reached the current design. We also custom-designed several of the buttons in the sidebar.

As a self-hosted site, we were able to incorporate a few of the plug-ins that are only available for self-hosted (or wordpress.org) sites. For example, the social media icons which turn colors when you scroll over them, as well as the 3-day forecast. Despite using a WordPress theme, with the self-hosted site we were able to incorporate several custom design changes, such as a a revamped menu bar and a different typeface.
